Acceptable Use Policy

1. About this policy

This Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everything you do in Arcavelo, including what you type, upload, sync, and ask Arc. Arcavelo is a personal planner, so almost everyone will never need to think about this page. It exists so that the few rules there are, are written down.

2. Illegal or harmful activity

Do not use Arcavelo to:

• break any law or encourage anyone else to;
• store or share content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights;
• harass, threaten, stalk, or harm anyone, or plan violence against people or property;
• store sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children (we report this to the authorities);
• store other people’s personal information without a lawful reason, such as other students’ grades, ID numbers, or contact details that you have no right to keep; or
• impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are.

3. Security and the integrity of the Service

Do not:

• access, or try to access, another person’s account or data, or any part of the Service you are not authorized to use;
• probe, scan, or test the Service for vulnerabilities, except as described under “Reporting security problems” below;
• upload viruses, malware, or files designed to damage or exploit the Service, including files crafted to attack the syllabus importer;
• overload, flood, or disrupt the Service, or interfere with anyone else’s use of it;
• use bots, scripts, scrapers, or other automated means to access the Service, except through features we provide for that purpose; or
• copy, decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction.

4. Plans, allowances, and payment

Do not:

• create multiple accounts to get extra free imports or Arc messages, or otherwise get around a plan’s allowances or the Service’s spending limits;
• share, sell, rent, or resell access to your account or to a paid plan;
• use stolen or unauthorized payment methods; or
• use the Service to build or train a competing product, or to benchmark it for that purpose.

5. Using the AI features

The AI Supplementary Terms apply to syllabus import and Arc. In addition to everything above, do not:

• use Arc to complete graded work in a way your school or instructor does not allow, or submit AI output as your own work where that breaks your school’s academic integrity rules;
• try to make the AI ignore its instructions, reveal its instructions, or produce content that breaks this policy or Anthropic’s Usage Policy;
• upload files you do not have the right to use, or files containing other people’s sensitive information; or
• rely on AI output for decisions about your health, safety, legal rights, or finances.

6. Reporting security problems

If you find a security vulnerability, please email support@arcavelo.app with the details before telling anyone else, and give us a reasonable time to fix it. Do not access, change, or delete other people’s data while investigating, do not disrupt the Service, and test only against your own account. If you follow these rules in good faith, we will not pursue legal action against you for your research.

7. Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is using Arcavelo in a way that breaks this policy, email support@arcavelo.app. For copyright complaints, use the process in the Copyright and DMCA Policy.

8. Enforcement

If you break this policy, we may remove content, limit features, suspend or close your account, or report the activity to the authorities, depending on how serious the problem is. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. The Terms of Service explain how suspension and termination work.
