How Arcavelo calculates your GPA
Your GPA is your quality points divided by your graded credit hours. Each class's letter grade converts to points on the 4.0 scale below, multiplied by that class's credit hours. Arcavelo adds them up across a semester, or across every semester for your cumulative GPA.
- Semester and cumulative GPA, to two decimal places, updated as soon as a grade changes.
- A class with no grade yet is left out, not counted as a zero.
- Transfer credits count toward your degree but not toward your GPA.
- Set a semester or cumulative GPA goal and Arcavelo shows the average you need in the classes still in progress.

Grades
What do I need on the final?
Arcavelo works it out from your syllabus weights and the scores you already have. Each class keeps its grading categories, like Exams 40% and Homework 25%. Set a target grade and Arcavelo calculates the average you need on the remaining work, recalculated every time you enter a new score.

Degree
Track your degree requirements and credits
Degree progress shows where you stand toward graduation right now. You enter your requirements once, and Arcavelo matches your classes to them by course code or Gen Ed tag.
- Total credits completed, in progress and still needed, toward your school's total.
- Each major and minor on its own card, with every required course marked Not started, In progress or Completed.
- Gen Ed buckets filled by any class that carries that tag.
- One class can count toward more than one requirement, such as a major and a minor.
- Plan the semesters ahead with the four-year planner in Arc Plus.

Questions about the tracker
Is the GPA and degree tracker free?
Yes. Grades, GPA, target grades and degree progress are all part of Arcavelo's free plan. Arc Plus adds the four-year planner and Arc, the AI advisor.
Does it handle weighted grading categories?
Yes. Each class keeps the category weights from its syllabus, so a 25% project counts more than a 1% quiz in your grade and in what you need on the rest.
Which grading scale does it use?
The standard 4.0 scale with plus and minus grades: A is 4.0, A- is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, and so on down to F at 0.0.
Does it connect to my school's degree audit?
No. You enter your requirements once (total credits, required courses, Gen Ed buckets) and Arcavelo matches your classes to them from then on.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Arcavelo runs in any browser and installs to your home screen, so the same grades and requirements are on your laptop and your phone.
